Technical Analyst

Full-time professional position at Excelacom’s headquarters in Reston with at least 6 weeks of travel throughout the year to various locations throughout the U.S. and relocation to unanticipated sites throughout the U.S. is expected.

Duties:

• Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, test procedures and test scripts for manual and automated testing.
• Perform functional testing, regression testing, system testing, user acceptance testing, and back-end testing.
• Run regression and smoke test suites on the application.
• Explain technical behaviors seen throughout the solution as related to defects to both technical and non-technical team members.
• Understand client business processes, technology systems, and all related documentation, including requirement analysis for the delivery project.
• Write SQL queries for back-end data verification, retrieving data from related tables and testing.
• Travel to lab testing sites in other states as required for testing.
• Attend project-related meetings, including requirement review, status updates and reviewing of test results.
• Drive root cause analysis sessions, providing a read out to both technical and business stakeholders for defects they have found and logged in the defect management system.

Requires:

• Master’s degree in computer science or information systems field and at least 1 year of experience in the offered position or in related Software Quality Assurance Engineer/Tester position. Foreign equivalent degrees are acceptable.

Specific Technical Requirements: 1 year of verifiable experience testing software employing the following tools and technologies: Test Rail, JIRA, Postman, Splunk, Linux, and SQL.
