Exagen is a patient-focused and discovery-driven life sciences company dedicated to transforming the care continuum for patients suffering from debilitating and chronic autoimmune diseases. The Cash Poster plays a crucial role in our organization, ensuring the accurate and timely posting of receivables. Reporting to the Billing Manager, the Cash Poster is tasked with precisely recording all payments to patient and client accounts. The primary responsibilities include posting EOBs, EFTs, and ERA payments from various sources, such as patients, insurance companies, and other entities. The role also involves handling denials, adjustments, and processing refunds and credits.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide the team in posting payments from bank, credit card, and client listings to patient accounts receivable balances.
• Supervise the posting of contracted and negotiated adjustments as needed.
• Investigate credit balances, ensuring timely and accurate adjustments to rectify discrepancies.
• Oversee the processing of refunds for patients or insurance companies, including the preparation of refund vouchers.
• Reconcile and balance all weekly and monthly receipts journals.
• Manage the Receipt Staff Follow-Up worklist based on assigned condition codes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Prior laboratory billing experience preferred
• High School diploma or GED
• Experience working with health insurance, bookkeeping, banking or payroll
• Detail oriented and efficient
• Possess excellent math skills
• Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objective without supervision
• Proficient in using Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong 10-key skills

Pay range: $22 - $25/hr
