Position: Transportation Lead
Compensation: $19.00 - $24.00 hourly
Reports To: Tim Coleman, Transportation Manager

Position Overview:
The Assistant Transportation Supervisor will work closely with the Customer Service Manager and Drivers to coordinate the shipping and transportation needs of the Evergreen Cooperative Laundry facilities. This can involve scheduling drivers, coordinating routes, supervising loading and unloading, and dealing with any problems as they arise. The individual in this position will be required to fill in as a driver in the absence of other drivers, cover PTO, make additional trips as necessary, and other duties that may be required as a driver.
Must have a willingness and ability to meet all customer requirements regarding Covid – 19 and any other safety measures.
Essential Duties:
Responsible for learning all the truck routes for both facilities: Glenville and Collinwood
Ensure truck inspections and safety protocols are being followed
Ensure all drivers complete the annual CCF onboarding
Assist with overseeing and processing general paperwork such as:
Return packing slips to the Evergreen Cooperative Laundry Administrative Office
Ensure that all receipts are turned in to the Evergreen Cooperative Laundry Administrative Office
Accurate recordings in drivers logs
Assists in conducting annual driver’s training
Ensuring compliance with CCF Onboarding: new hires and current staff annual updates
HLAC reporting requirements
Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspection
Responsible for cleanliness of vehicle: interior and exterior
Makes minor repair(s) to vehicles to keep them in good working order
Accurate weighing of soiled linen as it is returned to the facility
Deliver clean linen to the customers in a timely manner
Load and unload product at each facility
Preload vehicles, this helps to ensure drivers are making deliveries in a timely manner
Fill-in for drivers that are out due to call offs, pto, etc
Take inventories at the facilities in the linen rooms, when requested
Unload clean linen and stock on shelves at required locations
When necessary, pick up the soiled linen at the facility when it is on the floor
Maintain quality customer service and interaction with customers
Fuel vehicle and maintain the receipts for accurate accounting
Maintains a drivers log and presents billing forms to designated representatives
Reports on all accidents and injuries in a timely manner
Participates in regular safety meeting, safety training and hazard assessments
Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated
Maintain a clean driving record
Maintain and provide proof of Driver Medical Card, if necessary
May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Ability to maintain a professional relationship with all coworkers, vendor representatives, supervisors, managers, customers and client representatives.

Knowledge of and proficiency in all OSHA and local requirements related to all assigned work.
General Qualifications:
Must be able to pass the CCF badging process.
Willingness to be open to learning and growing.
Maturity of judgment and behavior.
Maintains high standards for work areas and appearance.
Attends work and shows up for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity in light of Evergreen time and attendance policy and/or client operating hours.
Ability to work a flexible schedule.
Must comply with any dress code requirements.
Must be able to work nights, weekends and some holidays.
Must be able to meet delivery times and requirements.
Physical Requirements:
Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses.
Significant walking or other means of mobility.
Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours).
Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 40 pounds.
Working Conditions (may add additional conditions specific to defined work location):
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in a controlled, temperate environment; however, may be exposed to heat/cold.
Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays, weekends, and extended hours as business dictates.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
Wears protective clothing and/or Personal Protective Equipment required by the work environment or governmental regulations.
Experience/Knowledge:
HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
Licenses or Certifications
Valid Driver’s License Required
Points: 2.0 or less on Driver’s license
