Job Summary/Basic Function:
Coordinate orientation and assessment activities for the Transitional Studies Division
Typical Duties:
  • Schedule and maintain testing, orientation and advising sessions at all program sites.
  • Coordinate with and provide assessment and lab support to off-campus locations.
  • Schedule and assign daily work to student and part-time hourly lab technicians.
  • Assist in the development of program policies and budgets.
  • Serve as liaison between other agencies, the state and individuals.
  • With delegated authority, interview and recommend selection of applicants for lab technicians, train new lab technicians and work study students, assign and schedule work.
  • Oversee data entry into WABERS system. Resolve quality control issues with assistance from the Dean when necessary.
  • Train and inform faculty on assessment, data compliance, and tracking.
  • Ensure accurate data for Transitional Studies programs. Prepare reports as requested with documentation.
  • Maintain status as a CASAS certified trainer, coordinator and proctor.
  • Monitor enrollments regularly to determine need for scheduling additional orientations or need to add additional classes. Make recommendations to the Dean.
  • Develop information in support of budget requests required to maintain the program, order and sign for CASAS material and Testing Units.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Three or more years of applicable experience
  • Experience working in an ethnically, socio-economically, and/or culturally diverse environment
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience working with databases
  • Valid drivers license and reliable vehicle for travel to outlying program sites in Snohomish County
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience coordinating orientations and/or advising sessions for students
  • Experience in WABERS, Tops Pro, and SMIS
  • Experience working with standardized assessments
  • Experience working in a community college or other higher education setting
  • Oral and written proficiency in Spanish, Russian, Vietnamese or Arabic
