Everest Reinsurance Company, a member of the Everest Group, LTD, is seeking a Management Liability Brokered and Direct Facultative Underwriter for the Warren, NJ (HQ) or the New York City office. A high level of technical underwriting, communication and analytic skill is necessary to develop and manage business to achieve long term underwriting profit and growth. Responsibilities: Key responsibilities for the position include new business production and renewal underwriting of D&O (public, private, non-profit, side A), Employment Practices Liability and Fiduciary Liability, for both Commercial and Financial Institutions as well as adherence to underwriting rules and guidelines and developing strong customer relationships by providing superior service. Developing and cultivating new and existing broker and ceding company relationships in assigned territory. Produce, underwrite, and manage a book of business which includes renewing existing accounts and developing new business to achieve company goals for growth and profit. Determine whether to accept, modify, or decline risks. Collaborate with all functional areas of the company to support company objectives. Adhere to pricing and selection standards that support strategic objectives and achieve desired financial goals. Maintain awareness of competitor capabilities and strategies, as well as the overall insurance marketplace. Able to work under minimal supervision Travel Required. Qualifications, Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree or above with a focus on finance, insurance certification would be a plus. Minimum 2 years underwriting in management liability/professional lines with emphasis on Public D&O, EPL and Fiduciary. Experience in professional lines is desirable but not necessary. Knowledge, Skills & Competencies: Ability to stay organized within a fast paced, team-oriented, high volume work environment with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks. Be self-motivated and independent while maintaining underwriting discipline to achieve strategic objectives. Financial analysis skills and ability to read a stock chart Strong oral and written communication skills Strong relationship management and business development skills. Possess excellent analytical skills. Possess good computer skills, including working knowledge of the various Microsoft programs NYC Only: The base salary range for this position is $100,000-$14,000 annually.
