Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Perform food service activities that meet CCR Title XXII, and other regulatory health and safety standards. Able to prepare quality food promptly and creatively, ensuring resident’s satisfaction and eye appeal.

2. Follows recipes at varying levels of difficulty so completed menu items are ready at the correct temperature and time.

3. Cooks meats and vegetables, prepares baked goods, cuts, and trims meat, and cooks a variety of regular and special diet foods and meals for the residents and employees. Responsible for creating menus and cooking daily.

4. Examine foods for quality and freshness, monitor temperatures and steam pressures, and turn and baste meat for flavor and proper cooking.

5. Maintains food storage, preparation, and clean, neat, and orderly cooking areas.

6. Cares for and uses equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Cleans and maintains food cooking equipment, including but not limited to ovens, sinks, freezers, refrigerators, slicers, stoves, dishwashers, walk-in coolers, utensils, etc.

7. Provides transportation in agency vehicles for agency business (residents, supplies, food, etc.).

8. Follows established procedures and cleanliness, health, and safety standards. Reports and removes any safety hazards.

9. Maintains personal appearance, hygiene, and uniform policies and standards. 10. Supports teamwork and interpersonal interaction with residents and staff members.

11. Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

Two years of solid cooking experience.
