Ethos Veterinary Health is Hiring a Veterinary Assistant Near Dallas, TX

Job Description

This is a full time position. Pay varies upon experience. Entry level position available with opportunities to advance in the field.

Duties: - Assist technicians and veterinarians in providing medical care to animals - Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures - Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment - Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians - Perform basic laboratory tests, such as blood work and urinalysis - Monitor animals before, during, and after procedures or surgeries - Clean and maintain examination rooms, surgical areas, and equipment - Provide assistance with dental cleanings and oral care for animals - Assist with radiographs (X-rays) and other diagnostic imaging procedures

Requirements: - Previous experience working with animals in a veterinary setting preferred - Knowledge of veterinary terminology, procedures, and protocols - Familiarity with animal handling and restraint techniques - Ability to perform basic laboratory tests and use laboratory equipment - Understanding of aseptic technique for surgical procedures - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written - Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately - Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Skills: - Animal handling - Veterinary critical care - Veterinary knowledge - Animal restraint techniques - Animal husbandry practices - Animal catheterization techniques - Pet grooming skills (bathing, nail trimming, etc.) - Laboratory procedures (blood work, urinalysis) - Aseptic technique for surgical procedures
