Individuals in the Assistant Manager position work closely with the Store Manager to maintain daily operations within the store. This person must be able to lead without supervision; and develop the skills of other team members through ongoing coaching and feedback.

Responsibilities

Your role as an Assistant Manager is to understand the processes, and strategies of operating the store. Specific responsibilities may vary by location, and the Store Manager reserves the right to develop new responsibilities or training opportunities for the ASM at anytime.

• Inventory. This is a very important and highly-controlled piece of the business.

A few inventory-related topics that will require your attention include:

Placing and Receiving orders, Inventory Counts, Analyzing Waste, and developing Loss-Prevention Strategies.

• Training/Development. We are our strongest when team members are operating at their full potential. The ASM plays an important role in developing the store team. You may be asked to train new hires, communicate changes to policy/procedures, or roll out information for new food/retail/fuel products.

Paperwork. You will act as Store Manager in the manager’s absence. You will need to have working knowledge of all daily paperwork that the Store Manager is responsible for reporting.
