• Responsible for all accounting matters of company portfolio consisting of residential and mixed-used properties including associated management and investment companies
• Supervise and train accounting department staff and onboard any new staff
• Produce quarterly and annual financial reporting packages to be submitted to financial institutions to verify compliance with debt covenants
• Prepare annual budgets and projections in conjunction with property managers and owners
• Collaborate with external accountants for year-end audits/closings and tax return preparations of approximately 60 companies, by providing year end workpapers, reports and recording necessary journal entries in compliance with generally accepted accounting standards
• Review and comment on draft financials, tax returns and proposed journal entries from external accountants prior to filings
• Maintain a job cost analysis system for properties under development and training project managers and staff on procedures to ensure proper recording and tracking of construction progress
• Record loan modifications on refinances, new loans and compile lender draw packages for properties under development
• Prepare annual New York City Tax Protests (TC201s) and file New York City Real Property Income and Expense (RPIEs) Statements for approximately 20 properties
• File sales tax returns as needed
• Monitor and advise on the monthly preparation of approximately 100 bank reconciliations and 15 security deposit reconciliations
• Record the acquisition of new properties and the sale of residential and commercial units
• Retain and update all partner investment shares and information for entire company portfolio
• Compile custom tailored ad-hoc analysis and reports as requested by investors and management
• Oversee the implementation of software changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness of department

Requirements:

• BA Degree in Accounting
• CPA
• Minimum 8 years Real Estate Accounting experience

Pay: $140,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
