Job Title : Construction Site Quality Specialist

Location : Pittsburgh, PA

Job type and Duration : Contract to Hire

Our client, a global Architecture and Design Firm, is hiring a Site Quality Specialist for their client location in Pittsburgh, PA.

The Staff Site Quality Specialist is responsible for the implementation of a quality program on projects to confirm projects are constructed, fabricated, examined, tested, and documented in accordance with the project specifications, governing codes of construction, and contract documents.

Collaborate and provide guidance to the scope, complexity, and logistics of work related to quality.

Understand and utilize project specifications to proactively support the successful fabrication / installation / construction of all project elements and coordinate with construction and engineering to resolve project issues.

Effectively communicate with project personnel to validate specifications and code inspections are understood and met.

Proactively evaluate the implementation of the quality program (e.g. document management, material management, special processes, etc.

and when required, bring the attention of noncompliant processes to the project team.

Inspect fabricated / installed / constructed elements to confirm they are in compliance with project specifications and drawings and results are documented as required.

Proactively evaluate installation / construction activities and participate in project schedule look-ahead meetings to identify and discuss any upcoming complexities with the project team.

Evaluate quality verification documents to confirm all attributes are addressed as they are issued and confirm compliance with the specifications and drawings.

Generate accurate inspection reports daily update inspection databases to accurately track inspection status, results, and metrics.

Participate in the walk-down and turnover process and perform and document acceptance inspections when required.

Coordinate / lead quality meetings with clients and subcontractors, as required.

Recommend enhancements and changes to the Quality Management System.

Proactively communicate quality opportunities or concerns to the project team.

Understand and interpret discipline-specific codes, specifications, and client requirements.

Track project quality metrics.

Review and confirm the project turnover deliverables are populated and correspond to project activities.

Coaching / training / mentoring field staff, if needed, related to quality and quality processes

Excavations

Earthwork / Grading / Aggregates

Drainage

Foundations / Structures / Duct Packages (PCC)

Pavement (PCC / HMA / WMA)

Structural Steel (Erection / Retrofit)

Electrical (Low / Medium / High Voltages)

Building Construction

Mechanical

Plumbing

Requirements :

High school diploma or equivalent.

7-12 years of related work experience managing the implementation of a quality program.
