Master's degree in school work with a school certification and relative licensure; full licensure.
Knowledge of best practice and research-based intervention practices delivered in a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS/RTI).
Successful experience working with at-risk students.
Knowledge of group dynamics, facilitation, and restorative practices.
Ability to analyze, implement, track, and report intervention plans and strategies.
The Spanish language is preferred.

JOB SUMMARY: The School Social Worker is responsible for push-in and co-taught behavioral strategy instruction to build socio-emotional competency in all students. The school social worker will also provide behavioral support to students exhibiting at-risk behaviors a minimum of two times per week around key coping strategies and social skills for high-yield school relationships and subsequent academic growth. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborates with classroom teachers to team teach social-emotional skills/strategies and interventions through co-teaching and small group instruction to support academic progress for all children.
Prepares a variety of, primarily, small group lesson outlines and plans for quality, research-based behavioral/social-emotional strategies where students are actively engaged in the learning.
Delivers quality lessons covering quality, research-based strategies where students are actively engaged in the learning.
Coordinates collaborative planning with classroom teachers to support continuity and alignment of learning.
Facilitate after-school restorative learning opportunities for identified students 1-2 times a week.
Work with staff/students to guide and support them in understanding the behavioral support process.
Meet with parents on an as-needed basis to provide community outreach support including traveling with parents to access resources, providing resume and job search support, and providing document translation as needed.
Utilize community resources to identify and organize workshops for families aligned with parent needs/requests.
Work with staff and students to develop plans for behavioral improvement.
Serve as an advocate for students to help resolve classroom issues.
Research interventions specific to individual caseload student needs and develop SMART goals.
Maintain data specific to the behavioral support process for caseload students in special education.
Serves as McKinney Vento Homeless Liaison and attends professional development offered by the local ISD or MDE.
Communicate and establish effective working partnerships with families.
Develop and data tracking for Behavioral Intervention Plans.
Maintain confidentiality with all student records and information.
Supervise and monitor students during lunch periods as scheduled by the assistant principal or designee.
