Your role:

You will work with RTC/PM ASE Architecture for the Test and Evaluation of Hostile Fire Systems (RATH) Team. RATH’s mission is to provide direct instrumentation and data management support to all Aircraft Survivability test programs at the Redstone Test Center. 

 

What you’ll do all day:

  • Support testing of the RTC/PM ASE Architecture for the Test and Evaluation of Hostile Fire Systems (RATH)
  • Support network architecture of Command-and-Control operations as well as various customers and entities
  • Execute physical network setup as well as maintain/troubleshoot system stability.
  • Operate various pieces of test and support equipment to include power supplies, multi-meters, video cameras and data acquisition systems used in testing military weapon systems.
  • Assemble and/or install equipment or parts requiring complex wiring, soldering, or connecting cable harnesses.
  • Troubleshoot both mechanical, electrical power, and electrical control systems.
  • Learn how to operate and troubleshoot missile warning test equipment.
  • Work from schematics and verbal direction and execute test operations while ensuring all activities are done in compliance with safety guidelines.
  • Learn various computer hardware and software applications to perform their job.

Minimum requirements for this position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline from an accredited* college/university and 3 years of experience analyzing results of tests, assisting in ensuring data integrity and quality, providing statistical analysis, and presenting findings to team members and management or Associate’s degree in engineering or related discipline from an accredited* college/university and 5 years of applicable experience or 7 years of applicable experience or 7 years of applicable military experience performing engineering, analysis, and related functions in research, development, test, and evaluation in support of military equipment and systems
  • Candidate must be willing to work outdoors up to 60% of the time regardless of weather conditions, to include hot/humid conditions, cold conditions.
  • Candidate must be willing and able to work around ammunition and explosives after receiving applicable training/certification.
  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Candidate must be able to come to work early, stay late, and work in shifts as testing schedule dictates.
  • Candidate must be willing to work at heights using fall protection equipment after receiving applicable training.
  • Candidate must be willing to work paid overtime hours.
  • Candidate must be willing to travel at least 30% of the year.
  • Candidate must be capable of lifting 50 pounds.
  • Candidate must be both mechanically as well as electrically inclined.
  • Candidate must possess basic computer skills, to include the ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Candidate must have strong organizational skills for coordinating and processing data requests and deliveries.
  • Candidate must have the ability to prepare informal test reports.
  • Candidate must work well with others, have a strong work ethic, be a motivated self-starter, be well organized, and be on time to work.
  • Candidate will ensure that all activities are performed in compliance with safety and security guidelines.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants)

Desired skills and experience for this position:

  • Prefer experience with installation and termination of fiber optic cabling.
  • Prefer COMP-TIA/Cisco Certified Network Associate
  • Prefer experience with installation and troubleshooting of network switches.
  • Active Secret security clearance preferred.
  • Prefer experience with data management.
  • Prefer both mechanical and electrical experience in the testing of military weapon systems.
