Project Director

Pay Range: $58,500-$65,000/annually.

The Beatrice Place Program Director is responsible for the Beatrice Place Community. The Beatrice Place Program Director ensures the residents and community members have access to the programs and services that will meet their needs. This includes access to and coordination of case management, programing, and healthcare services. In addition, the Beatrice Place Program Director is responsible for administrative operations of the community. This includes occupancy and community membership goals, outreach, fundraising, finance, and facility maintenance. This position requires being highly visible in the community and establishing a strong community network is critical.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Leadership:

  • Collaborate with the Resident Advisory Council to develop and maintain strategic and tactical plans to guide the community. 
  • Collaborate with Neighborhood Program Coordinator to implement, evaluate and adjust the membership recruitment plan.
  • Collaborate with Marketing team to build a network of liaison activities with other organizations. 

Management:

  • Assure the delivery of outstanding member services and ensure appropriate and timely response to all member requests.
  • Establish and monitor benefits/perks of memberships which enhance member services.
  • Create and maintain program policies and procedures. 
  • Create, facilitate, or coordinate member programs, activities, or special events to ensure diverse offerings consistent with member interests.
  • Identify and communicate housekeeping and maintenance needs to maintenance staff through an established work order system.

Relationships and Team Building:

  • Work cooperatively with other staff.
  • Treat all participants with dignity and respect.
  • Collaborate with the Program Associate in all aspects of managing the Community. This includes maintaining back-up procedures for both positions. 
  • Pursue professional growth through various media, workshops, and seminars.
  • Recruit and manage volunteers, including determining the appropriate volunteer activities and supervising the volunteers selected.
  • Position reports to the VP of Independent Living

Financials and Metrics:

  • Collaborate with the Assistant Controller to establish a vetted preferred provider network. 
  • Monitor revenues and expenses and manage within established budgets. 
  • Collaborate with the Director of Facilities to ensure ESLC facility standards are maintained.
  • Collaborate with the Controller to implement efficient financial systems including all aspects of billing and accounts payable, as well as maintaining an accurate database of members, service utilization, retention, and other information deemed necessary to track the activities and outcomes of the Community. 

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in either Recreation, Gerontology, Social Work, Health Administration or Human Services preferred or related field with three to five years of experience in housing environment.
  • Experience in activity coordinating and planning with older adults preferred. 
  • Experience and interest in working with older adults.
  • This position requires a creative, high-energy resourceful problem-solver able to manage all day-to-day activities of a new membership services organization.
  •  A mature, welcoming, pleasant, friendly and cheerful personality is essential.
  • Valid New York State driver’s license with a clean driving record and willingness to drive van to transport participants.
  •  Ability to interact courteously and tactfully with staff, participants, family members, visitors, vendors and the general public.

Performing duties of this job requires occasional walking and standing. The job also requires escorting and assisting participants on outings. Must be able to occasionally lift loads of 30 pounds without assistance and the ability to sit, talk, and hear is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Most essential job duties are performed indoors, in a normal office environment. Employees may be exposed to indoor temperature fluctuations and will be exposed to various outdoor elements when going on outings.

SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIP: The work is performed within established guidelines and requires periodic supervision. The employee exercises some initiative and independent judgment to effectively perform the essential job duties of this position.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR OTHERS: The employee has no direct responsibility for others. 

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES: Shall be fully acquainted with all safety policies and procedures of Seabury Woods. Takes an active role in all fire drills during the shift and/or emergencies for internal and external disasters as monitored by supervisor and incident manager. Must comply with facility in-service requirements.

Maintain confidentiality of all information related to the organization, participants, participants, family and staff, that may be encountered, either formally or informally, during the normal course of business. This includes medical and treatment records, financial and human resources information.
