Job Scope/ Summary:
Operations Manager at EPIC Waters will directly oversee the implementation, administration, operations, and on-going evaluation of all operating elements at American Resort Management, including all water attractions and general operations. The position serves as a member of the Executive Team and is an integral part of the entire strategic initiative. This individual is responsible for ensuring all staff and operating standards in all departments upholds the maximum level of safety, cleanliness, upkeep, efficiency and guest experience and satisfaction. The Operations Manager will directly oversee all revenue and yield management activities for all outlets at the property. This will encompass driving sales efforts, controlling costs by department, maximizing prices and yield strategy, working with all department heads to maximize their revenue potential. The Operations Manager will work closely with the sales and marketing team to maximize promotions and sales efforts. Must provide the example of Aloha Spirit in the building and coach all personnel in providing the same spirit.
Must have experience in Operations of Water parks, Food and Beverage, Retail, and Sales. Must have experience and knowledge of POS Systems both through admin functions and general user.
Essential Job Responsibilities and Functions:
· Assist with overseeing daily operations of all operations including Guest Services, Arcade, Aquatics, Maintenance, and F&B.
· Knowledge of water quality, testing and monitoring procedures and demonstrate ability to react, as necessary to water conditions.
· Serve as MOD on the water park floor for the majority of service time providing direction to staff and observing the operation. Rotating around all areas continuously and with full awareness of all activities.
· Assist the General Manager and Assistant General Manager with all daily operations and projects as assigned.
· Assists with projects and analysis that encourage the progression of EPIC Waters, and ARM, LLC corporate revenue management initiatives, constantly auditing daily operations.
· Lead team in periodic revenue management meeting with a report out and analysis on previous period (week, month, YTD) statistics, along with forecast review for the Waterpark.
· Work with sales and marketing effectively to maximize revenue opportunities.
· Weekly reports must be submitted to AGM/GM. Cash Handling, Staffing levels, CE updates, discount tracker.
· Monitors all Departmental focuses on staffing levels, service cues, uniform appearance, inventory levels properly stock, merchandise rotation, equipment inspections, cleanliness of the facility using all senses, and Aloha spirit being demonstrated.
· Balance the revenue and profitability of all revenue centers in relation to the goals set forth for the entire EPIC Waters operation, some include Dynamic Pricing, operating hours based on budget, monitoring ISD schedules (TX, AR, OK, LA, TN, MO) Sales and Marketing budget, plan and goals, outlet profitability, ramp up projections and ownership expectations.
Position Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
· Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college with concentration in Recreation, Public Administration or closely related field, AND three (2) years’ experience working in aquatics environment, and revenue management environment preferably with at least one (1) year of supervisory experience, OR an equivalent combination of closely related education, experience, work and training in an environment of similar size and scope.
· Lifeguard Instructor license preferred at time of hire, or must be acquired within 3 months of hire.
· Certified Pool Operator (CPO) of Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certificate preferred at time of hire, or must be acquired within the first 90 days.
· Proven track record of building a strong team, fostering an environment of respect, open communication, problem solving, priority for the guest and highest regard for life safety.
