Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated healthcare professional to join our team as the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)/Infection Control (ID). The ADON/ID plays a critical role in ensuring the delivery of safe and effective care to our residents while maintaining compliance with infection control standards and regulations. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an individual who is passionate about improving patient outcomes and promoting a culture of safety and excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and oversight to nursing staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to residents.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with infection control standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement infection prevention and control strategies to minimize the risk of healthcare-associated infections.
  • Educate staff on infection control practices, including hand hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and environmental cleaning protocols.
  • Investigate and respond to outbreaks of infectious diseases, implementing appropriate control measures and reporting findings to regulatory agencies as required.
  • Serve as the facility's liaison with public health authorities and other external stakeholders on matters related to infection control.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary team meetings to promote resident safety and quality of care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records related to infection control activities and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of New Jersey.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility.
  • Previous experience in infection control and prevention preferred.
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing infection control in healthcare settings.
  • Certification in infection control (CIC) preferred.
