Environmental Protection Agency is Hiring a Program Manager Near Los Angeles, CA

Qualifications:

We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:

To qualify for the GS-15 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-14 level defined as experience in maintaining responsibility for overall program management, strategic planning, budgeting, communications, and all managerial, administrative, and programmatic functions. Managing and implementing any specific law, regulation and/or statute that may be required to successfully carry out the mission of the Agency.

Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: 

1. Ability to collaborate with other key officials in developing Division plans and programs, both immediate and long-range, formulated and carried out by the Division.
2. Ability to provide consultation to high level officials to ensure sound and productive decisions are made within the agency.
3. Ability to advise senior management on training programs and operations programs by providing direction.
4. Ability to collaborate on special projects.
5. Skill in oral communication.
6. Skill in negotiation.

Responsibilities:

You will:

• Participate with and advises Division Director in directing the planning, administration and evaluation of related staff work involved in the review, development and execution of rules, regulations, standards, policies, practices and projects for the programs.
• Assist the Director in accomplishing and directing the actions involved in organizing the responsible Division programs.
• Direct the actions involved in organizing and implementing the Division programs.
• Participate in coordinating with internal and external organizations to determine or recommend compromises to solve issues, maintaining effective relations with interested groups.

You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements.
