Payroll Clerk
ENVIRONMENTAL LOGISTICS is seeking a Payroll Clerk to join our team in Denver, CO.
Job Description:
The Payroll Clerk will perform a variety of duties related to employee payroll including, but not limited to, processing payroll checks, processing timecards and records, processing expense reports, certified payroll reporting and processing various reports. The Payroll Clerk will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of employee payroll including, but not limited to, employee benefits and deductions, payroll taxes, and employee leave accrued accruals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Process payroll in accordance with federal and state regulations
· Process timecards and records on a weekly basis for new hires and existing employees using Quickbooks.
· Audit all timesheets, reconcile any irregularities.
· Certified payroll reporting to multiple agencies
· Pull GPS reports per crew and reconcile irregularities.
· Maintain accurate records of employee leave accrued accruals such as vacation time accrued leave, sick time accrued leave, etc.
· Assist with Payroll tasks, including checking timesheets for accuracy, entering data to database and spreadsheets, making adjustments in pay.
· Answering inquiries from employees.
· Maintaining database, ensuring that records are complete and current.
· Recording information, processing, and filing forms.
· Maintaining Files
· Abiding by all company procedures and accounting principles
Education: Required Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent (Preferred) 2-5 years’ experience in a similar role. Knowledge of general accounting practices and procedures; Knowledge of accounting principles; Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software programs; Proficient in general computer applications; Ability to work independently or as part of a team; Ability to prioritize tasks; Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively; Excellent verbal communication skills; Excellent written communication skills (including grammar and punctuation); Excellent interpersonal skills; Strong organizational skills; Detail oriented with excellent follow through skills; Ability to work independently
Requirements:
- Proven experience working in payroll or a related field
- Strong understanding of certified payrolls
- Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance
- Familiarity with Human Resources processes related to payroll
- Proficiency in QuickBooks
- Ability to analyze data and identify discrepancies
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills to interact with employees regarding payroll inquiries
