Work under the direction of Lead Transportation Engineer to monitor/control/verify/report infrastructure construction projects;
Participate in all aspects of projects, including set-up/design/completion;
Lead project to ensure that tasks are assigned/monitored/completed in a timely & efficient manner;
Develop engineering plans/design drawings/specifications, analyze contract documents for compliance with state/local regulations/project requirements & resolve discrepancies;
Prepare/review geometric design for highway/roadway alignment, Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plans based on MUTCD standards;
Design detours/special custom signs for temporary/permanent use per DOT standards;
Provide engineering calculations for quantities/cost estimations & perform value engineering/estimate reconciliations to bring projects within budget.
Required Qualifications:
Master of Science in Transportation/Traffic Engineering
Minimum 1-year work experience in transportation infrastructure projects, including developing MOT plans & traffic sign designs
Sound knowledge of transportation/highway systems/designs & traffic control
Excellent ability in project management/coordination
Familiar with MUTCD & DOT regulations/standards/specifications
Proficient in AutoCAD/Civil 3D/MicroStation/AutoTurn/MS Office
