About Enroll Indy

Enroll Indy is a non-profit organization that offers a unified enrollment process for all families enrolling in Indianapolis Public Schools and Indianapolis-area charter schools. Enroll Indy’s mission is to help families choose schools that meet their children’s needs by providing a one-stop enrollment process, school information that is relevant and easy to understand, and data analysis to inform school improvement in Indianapolis. The Enroll Indy vision is that all students will have equitable access to a diverse set of school options, and all students will attend high-quality schools that meet their unique needs.

Position Summary

The Manager of Development and Operations is the full-time, principal fundraising professional responsible for the strategic growth of Enroll Indy through corporate and foundation giving programs, grant writing/management, and special events. This position includes the oversight of day-to -day operations and communication initiatives. The Manager of Development and Operations also serves as a visionary in assisting with the development and execution of long-term strategies to sustain Enroll Indy’s mission.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field related to fundraising, communications, or operations
  • Minimum two years of experience managing successful fundraising campaigns and initiatives, ideally within the nonprofit sector
  • Experience with grant writing, grant procurement, and effective management and reporting
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to shift priorities as needed
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and cultural competency skills
  • An entrepreneurial and strategic mindset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with outstanding mastery of grammar and the ability to expertly communicate stories and present data in an engaging manner
  • Experience in developing and executing communications initiatives, either personally or in partnership with external agencies
  • Keen eye for - and understanding of - design, content creation, and brand standards
  • Intrinsically motivated and able to work independently to achieve goals
  • Adapts quickly to learning relevant software essential for the role

Major Duties, Functions And Responsibilities

  • Research, identify, and apply for new grant opportunities that align with our mission and goals.
  • Prepare grant proposals, monitoring progress and outcomes of funded projects.
  • Ensure compliance with application guidelines and reporting deadlines.
  • Support intentional stewardship efforts, helping ensure that supporters receive unique and personalized communication.
  • Develop and execute special events to support fundraising, community engagement, and donor cultivation, as needed.
  • Strategize on potential expansion opportunities to help sustain and advance the mission of filling the needs of a community or a marginalized population.
  • Partner with the Executive Director on accounting management, including applications such as Expensify, Bill.com, Just Works, et al., as applicable.
  • Interface with outsourced bookkeeping company for month-end reporting, account reconciliations and preparation of financial statements, as needed
  • Manage and inventory all technology purchases and other office related needs
  • Collaborate with PEO (professional employer organization) to provide onboarding to new employees, including the distribution, collection, and filing of all required forms and records.
  • Manages office needs and co-working space environment
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in communications and operations.
  • Assists in compiling financial data and reporting for the annual report
  • Assists in answering phones during busy enrollment seasons
  • Manages Enroll Indy Info Email Account
  • Manages all Google accounts and assists with logins and password management of other relevant software accounts
  • Develop and execute annual communication strategies aligned with the organization's vision, mission, and objectives.
  • Create and manage (or collaborate with external vendors in creating and managing) digital marketing, including ads and social media campaigns, across various platforms to enhance brand visibility, engagement, and loyalty.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on advertising and social media performance, metrics, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Oversee public relations coverage to ensure positive brand awareness and increased interest.
  • Serve as liaison between media requests and executive director (Enroll Indy’s spokesperson).
  • Manage website and maintain consultant relationships, as needed, to ensure all information is up-to-date, pages are functioning properly, and design is robust and fresh.
  • Create (or manage the external relationships with vendors who create) marketing materials in collaboration with the Enroll Indy Executive Director, Senior Director of Policy and Data, and Manager of Enrollment Specialists.
  • Manage the annual report, working in conjunction with consultants, such as designers and writers.
  • Initiate and nurture community outreach activities to build awareness, engagement, and partnerships, including attendance at community events.
  • Manage the general Enroll Indy Information email account, ensuring timely responses and appropriate resolution of inquiries
  • Stay up to date with legal compliance responsibilities.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by Executive Director.
  • Attend all staff meetings or other meetings as assigned.
  • Some weekend or evening hours may be required.

Starting Salary: $52,000-$55,000
