Description

Who we are looking for...

We are seeking a CEI Senior Project Engineer that will direct highly complex and specialized construction engineering administration and inspection programs; plans and organize the work of subordinate and staff members; develop and/or review policies, methods, practices, and procedures; and review programs for conformance with FDOT standards. The following skills will be required for this position: 

  • Overall field contract management, administration, and coordination on Interstate/Highway Construction projects. 
  • Technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating construction engineering assignments involving unique or controversial problems which significantly affect major corporate programs. 
  • Communicating effectively with the company, FDOT, and staff members.
  • Monitoring assigned staff to determine that the contractor’s activities are monitored and controlled in accordance with design specifications and contractual requirements.
  • On-site liaison between Client, Company Personnel and Contractor I in resolution of project issues.
  • Act as a specialist in the application of advanced concepts, principles, techniques, and procedures for an assigned area of responsibility. 
  • Analyze complex construction/design problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures and consults with design engineering personnel.
  • Represent project(s) at meetings and conferences.

Requirements

  • Possesses a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or any related field.
  • Registered in the state of Florida as a Professional Engineer.
  • Experience as a Senior Project Engineer for the Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX) and/or the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).
  • Ability to obtain endorsement in the State of Florida within six months of Project, NTP if registered in another state.
  • 5 to 10 years of civil engineering construction projects is preferred.
  • Experience having performed roadway and bridge project related duties in the State of Florida (i.e. Materials Acceptance and Certification System (MAC), AASHTOWare PrC, EEO compliance, processing of Supplemental Agreements and/or work orders, progress and final estimates, reviewing and recommending field changes). 
  • Florida project administration experience is preferred.
  • Complete the Critical Structures Construction Issues, Self-Study Course.

Certifications: 

  • FDOT Advanced MOT
  • CTQP Quality Control Manager
