Job Title: Drafting Technician

Location: Rockford, Il

Pay Range: Starting at $25/hour. Willing to pay more based on experience.

Job Summary

The Mechanical Drafter will be responsible for designing and creating detailed working diagrams of machinery for manufacturing fasteners. They will use computer-aided drafting (CAD) equipment to develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, dies, tools, and controls. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing fasteners, be familiar with AutoCad and possess excellent communication skills.

This is a contract position will be at least 8 months with the possibility of extending longer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capture design intent into fasteners for manufacturability and make design changes based on feedback from the tool room.
  • Release design orders to the floor and administer the process of tooling creation from fabrication to production.

Education/Experience

  • Associate degree
  • 2-4 years of experience in manufacturing fasteners or related industry is desired but not required.

Skills Required

  • Proficient in AutoCad
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in technical writings.
  • Ability to work in a team environment

Skills Desired

  • Experience working with fasteners

Job Type: Contract

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
