Position Overview:

The Manager of Auto Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, and Tire Shops oversees the efficient operation of multiple automotive service centers. This role involves managing a team of mechanics, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and maintaining customer satisfaction. The manager is responsible for both administrative tasks and technical aspects of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management:

  • Supervise and lead a team of auto mechanics, diesel mechanics, and tire technicians.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor staff members.
  • Schedule work shifts, allocate tasks, and monitor performance.

Service Quality and Efficiency:

  • Ensure that all repair and maintenance services meet industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Monitor service quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Customer Service:

  • Interact with customers, address inquiries, and resolve complaints.
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Provide accurate estimates for repairs and services.

Inventory and Supplies:

  • Manage inventory levels for spare parts, tires, and other supplies.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely availability of necessary items.
  • Optimize inventory turnover and minimize wastage.

Financial Management:

  • Prepare budgets, track expenses, and manage costs.
  • Monitor revenue, profit margins, and financial performance.
  • Implement pricing strategies for services and products.

Technical Expertise:

  • Stay updated on automotive industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues when necessary.
  • Collaborate with mechanics to diagnose and repair vehicles.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and workplace policies.
  • Maintain a safe working environment for staff and customers.
  • Address any safety concerns promptly.

Marketing and Business Development:

  • Develop marketing strategies to attract new customers.
  • Communicate with Marketing Director to promote services through advertising, social media, and community outreach.
  • Identify growth opportunities and expand the customer base.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive repair and maintenance.
  • Previous managerial experience in an auto repair shop or related field.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using automotive diagnostic tools and software.
  • Knowledge of diesel engines, tire services, and general auto repair.
  • Business acumen and financial management abilities.

Additional Information:

  • Work Environment: The manager will split time between the office and the shop floor.
  • Working Hours: Typically full-time, including weekends and evenings as needed.

Certifications: ASE certifications or relevant industry certifications are advantageous.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
