Job Summary:
The Fund Accounting Manager is responsible for but not limited to the accounting, financial and
performance reporting of the income fund. Those responsibilities include managing and developing staff,
reviewing financial statements, and assisting the fund controller. This position requires an in-depth
understanding of fund accounting, financial analysis, and the real estate industry. The position is highly
visible and will require you to be adept while maintaining your attention to detail to support the fund
accounting team’s objectives.

Responsibilities:

• The position will supervise at least 1 senior fund accountant. This role is further responsible for professionally developing and managing all those reporting to them as the team expands.
• Establishes internal processes and controls plus accounting templates for the income fund.
• Review of at least 1 fund’s activities which includes but is not limited to detailed transactional entries and reconciliations in connection with month and quarter end closing procedures.
• Review of all fund financials prepared by senior fund accountant and ensures timely fund deliverables of debt and guarantor reporting, investor financial reporting, and any other ad hoc reporting requests.
• Review of all capital schedules prepared by senior fund accountant to ensure accuracy.
• Review quarterly fund accounting calculations of NAV, management fees, capital calls, and distributions.
• Works closely with Investor Relations team to address all investor inquiries.
• Collaborate with development teams on asset acquisitions and dispositions.
• Coordinate with fund tax preparer and controller on quarterly tax estimates, review of K-1, and Federal State filings.
• Oversee annual audit, review of AFS and footnote disclosures, and secure its timely completion.
• Identifies opportunities for process improvement, designs, and implements changes on the fund accounting team.
• Collaborate with both internal and external business partners in research of technical accounting guidance.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field from a four-year college or university.
• 5 years’ experience of accounting. Public accounting experience highly desirable.
• Excellent knowledge base of GAAP with extensive understanding of income statements, balance sheets, general ledger, and consolidation.
• Ability to communicate and educate others on complex accounting principles.
• Embraces decision making and has the aptitude to act accordingly.
• Handles confidential information while using discretion in decision making.
• Must be highly organized and excellent at task and time management to achieve timely team
  deliverables.
• Communicates effectively (both oral & written) and builds positive and productive relationships
  within the organization.
