THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Senior Accountant position is a critical component of the Finance team, executing all aspects of the accounting operations, in support of the program, development and executive functions. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate to help elevate the accounting infrastructure of a dynamic and rapidly-growing nonprofit as it continues to grow its positive impact on the community. This role involves a high level of expertise in accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting. The Senior Accounting position plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with regulations, and providing financial insights to support decision-making.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and at least three years of accounting experience required, with a proven track record of increasing responsibility. CPA or equivalent certification. Preference for candidates with nonprofit multi-fund accounting experience, appropriate knowledge of tax laws and related issues and regulations for 501(C)(3) organizations, including federal and state filings and sound internal controls. Experience with single audits, previously known as the OMB Circular A-133 audit.

STANDARD HOURS: 8am – 5pm.
SALARY RANGE: Salary is contingent upon available funding, and is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
JOB LOCATION: The position is based in the Atlanta metropolitan area and requires the employee to work at the Empowerment Resource Center office.
