Nammo Defense Systems Inc., a defense contractor, manufactures and supports shoulder-fired systems; energetic material solutions such as aircraft emergency escape systems, actuation devices, rocket motors, warheads, medium & large caliber ammunitions, mortar ammunition; and composite solutions including carbon fiber tubes and composite aerostructures.

We are seeking a highly qualified professional individual to fill the role of Compliance Specialist. 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Plans, Establishes, and maintains regulatory compliance and ethics programs, policies, procedures, and practices to ensure that business and operational activities follow statutory, regulatory, and corporate requirements.

• Prepares applications and oversees all company and facility licensing, registration, permits, and renewals are maintained current and in compliance with requirements.

• Serves as ITAR Empowered Official for the preparation, compliance, and submittal of export and import licenses, technical assistance agreements, manufacturing license agreement, and offshore procurement and distribution agreements to DDTC.

• Maintains related records, correspondence, logs, and documentation.

• Reviews, administers, and manages all export and import transactions and activities. Lead commodity jurisdiction determination efforts. Seek input from regulatory agencies, compliance counsel or outside consultants, as necessary. 

• Research, monitors, and interpret statues and regulations, and provides compliance and regulatory support to all areas of the organization. With assistance of legal counsel, analyzes and interprets new regulations and implements updates to internal policies, procedures, and practices for the affected areas within the organization.

• Conducts internal periodic regulatory reviews and compliance audits.

• Coordinates with federal, state, and local governmental agencies and other organizations in matters related to statutory and regulatory requirements and participate in regulatory audits and inspections.

• Interfaces with government agents, auditors, officers, and representatives pertaining to regulatory requirements. 

• Interfaces with legal counsel on significant regulatory issues.

• Interfaces with all levels of organizational personnel, customers, suppliers, and agencies.

• Provides internal compliance training to company departments and employees in a multi-facility and multi-state organization.

Required Experience & Skills:

• 5 or more years’ experience, combined with a B.S./B.A. degree in Business, Law, or a related field, or an Equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

• Knowledge of basic business information technology programs such as Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office. Experience with electronic BATFE Acquisition and Disposition record-keeping software, ITAR license recordkeeping software, and ERP software is preferred.

• Experience working with ITAR, and BATFE statutes and regulations is required; The ideal candidate will also bring experience with Department of Defense and/or U.S. Government contracting regulations (e.g., NISPOM, FAR/dFARS); knowledge of International contracting and subcontracting processes (FMS/FMF/DCC contracting processes, ICA and offset requirements); and regulations pertaining to the safeguarding of CUI, PII, CVI and other covered defense information.

• Ability to obtain BATFE approval to work with our products as an Employee Possessor is required.

• Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts. Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects; Represents the organization as a prime technical contact on contracts and projects. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

• Ability to obtain and maintain ATF Processor license.
