EMPLOY is Hiring an OB/GYN Medical Assistant Near Long Beach, CA

We are looking for a OB/GYN Medical Assistant to join an amazing healthcare organization located in the Long Beach, CA area. Under direct supervision of licensed personnel, the OB/GYN Medica Assistant is responsible for providing direct patient care and supporting clinic activities in the outpatient setting. They will gather patient data, perform assigned tasks, and ensure a safe and clean working environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Patient Care:

  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of licensed personnel.
  • Perform patient care activities identified on the medical assistant competency checklist, ensuring safety, comfort, and privacy.
  • Collect clinical data and contribute to the development and implementation of patient care plans.
  • Demonstrate specific interventions for the women's health patient population.

Infection Control and Safety:

  • Consistently apply infection control policies and procedures.
  • Respond to changing patient care needs.
  • Maintain a safe and healthful environment.

Administrative Support:

  • Provide secretarial support as needed.
  • Document findings accurately in the patient's medical record, adhering to company specific standards and systems.

Competency Requirements:

  • Successfully complete and maintain company MA competency skills checklist.

Additional Responsibilities:

Professional Development:

  • Attend department-specific staff meetings, in-services, education, and training.
  • Participate in selected department-specific Performance Improvement Projects.
  • Demonstrate clinical practice consistent with company Standards of Nursing Practice and Clinical Policies and Procedures.

Support and Collaboration:

  • Assist in maintaining systems to support nursing care.
  • Participate in the orientation and development of students and/or new staff as assigned.

Education and Qualifications Requirements:

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma
  • Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy Certification

Experience:

  • Two or more years of previous experience in a medical/hospital/business setting preferred.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Proven reliability, trustworthiness, flexibility, and high ethical standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop procedures for front desk activities.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and a respectful approach towards all individuals.
  • Proficiency in system software, medical terminology, and general office machine operations.
  • Typing speed of 35 wpm.
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a team.
  • Demonstrated multitasking skills in a high-stress environment while maintaining adherence to HIPAA standards of confidentiality.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
