Your Role: Enhancing Construction Operations As an Asphalt Grading Laborer at Emery Sapp & Sons, you will be instrumental in supporting various aspects of our construction projects, particularly focusing on grading tasks related to asphalt surfaces. From assisting with material handling to executing grading procedures, your hands-on involvement will ensure the quality and efficiency of each project. Your commitment to maintaining a safe work environment, adherence to safety protocols, and collaboration with site supervisors and construction staff are key components of your role. Responsibilities: Grading Tasks: Execute grading tasks related to asphalt surfaces, including but not limited to leveling, smoothing, and compacting materials to achieve desired specifications. Material Handling: Assist with loading and unloading materials, operating machinery, and transporting materials to designated areas as needed to support project progress. Safety and Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, and participating in safety training sessions. Collaboration: Collaborate with site supervisors and construction staff to ensure the success of each project, promoting teamwork and effective communication throughout the grading process. Innovation: Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement in grading practices, bringing forward ideas and suggestions for increased efficiency and effectiveness. Other Duties: Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic construction environment. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in construction or a related industry, particularly in asphalt grading or pavement maintenance, is preferred. Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn and contribute to the team's success. Capable of performing physical tasks, including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, and working in various weather conditions. Basic math and measurement skills, along with the ability to follow directions and work independently or as part of a team.
