Emerson Career Site is Hiring a Financial Analyst Near Boulder, CO

If you are a Finance or Accounting professional looking to sharpen your skills and broaden your business knowledge, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you within the Measurement Solutions business group. Based in our Boulder, Colorado location, this Financial Analyst position will join a strong team to provide critical support and insight to the functional business groups across the North America organization. A strong background in Accounting and/or Finance is required for this position. Local candidates preferred but not required.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Formulate, distribute, and maintain annual budgets 
  • Work with general accounting and cost accounting teams to coordinate monthly journal entries and check transaction accuracy
  • Analyze month-end spend variances and conduct regular meetings with budget owners to follow up on results 
  • Prepare and maintain financial plans, regular and special-purpose reports, historical records, bridges, and variance analysis of actual costs against budgeted funds
  • Proactively partner and collaborate with business stakeholders to better understand risks and opportunities and update financial projections per these insights and the direction of leadership
  • Perform AdHoc Analysis to satisfy business questions
  • Find opportunities for automation and process improvements

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Finance, Accounting required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this position. 

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Oracle and Hyperion Financial systems
  • Power BI experience preferred
  • Cost accounting a plus
  • Microsoft Suite
  • Boulder, CO and immediate surrounding areas based

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. In accordance with Colorado EPEWA, the salary/pay range for this role is $78,200-$90,000, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
