Emerald is Hiring a Sales Director, NY NOW Near New York, NY

Overview

Emerald is seeking a Sales Director to lead the strategic direction and management of sales for NY NOW, the largest home and gift wholesale tradeshow. Our Sales team drives NYNOW forward by bringing in thousands of new brands to every show, while maintaining relationships with existing brands and partners. The team consists of Sales Development Representatives, Account Executives, and Customer Success Managers. 

Reporting directly to our Brand Leader, our Sales Director will lead the strategic direction and management of the sales engine to fine-tune, optimize, scale and successfully help NYNOW meet its short and long term objectives. This leadership role will define the vision for how our Sales team operates and functions daily, and execute the plan to make it happen. The Sales Director will learn from our existing team, draw from extensive tradeshow experience and success, and bring new perspectives and solutions to enable exponential growth.

The ideal candidate for the Sales Director will have proven experience using a data-driven approach to making decisions and setting a clear strategy and operating plan for our sales team to hit ambitious revenue goals. This role will be best suited for someone who is a builder who enjoys reimagining process, systems and structures.

Responsibilities

  • Map strategy: Set territory strategy, field/outside selling strategies, and section/account strategies
  • Reimagine systems and processes: Partner and guide our Sales team to optimize and transform our current systems, processes, and analytics
  • Focus on data: Build upon our existing metrics to benchmark our team’s success and use data to guide decisions for future growth
  • Develop and scale the team: Design the org structure and strategy with our recruiting team to aggressively hire top-notch individual contributors and continuously develop new and existing sales team members.
  • Plan programs: Partner with our Marketing team on planning key initiatives to drive opportunities and movement through the sales funnel

Qualifications

  • Sales leadership experience with a proven ability to create and execute strategies that drive revenue for a fast-growing, evolving events brand
  • Experience implementing and managing a clear, efficient, technology-enabled sales process and structure that drives growth
  • Proven ability to rally a team and leverage data and methodical execution to meet ambitious goals
  • Experience managing and developing a team of sales development representatives or account executives
  • Successful track record of collecting and managing forecasts with accuracy and predictability throughout the entire sales funnel
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, finance, and other leaders across the organization
  • Comfort working in a dynamic, evolving environment, with a proven ability to effectively pivot to incorporate new information and/or develop new strategies to ensure goals are met
