Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Funeral Director to join our team. The Funeral Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of funeral arrangements and providing support to grieving families during their time of need.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and arrange all aspects of the funeral service, including preparing the deceased for viewing and burial
- Meet with families to discuss their needs, preferences, and budget for the funeral service
- Provide guidance and support to families in making decisions regarding caskets, flowers, music, and other funeral arrangements
- Ensure all necessary permits and legal documents are completed accurately and on time
- Arrange transportation of the deceased to the funeral home or cemetery
- Coordinate with clergy, florists, and other service providers to ensure a seamless funeral service
- Oversee the preparation of obituary notices and other documentation
Experience:
- Previous experience in funeral directing or a related field is preferred
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and sanitation practices
- Strong customer service skills with a compassionate approach to supporting grieving families
- Ability to handle heavy lifting when necessary
- Experience in bereavement support and event planning is a plus
- Familiarity with cosmetology for post-mortem care is beneficial
- Sales skills for discussing funeral packages and services
