Chef Manager Ref : 2022-40960 Job Information Division : Caterplus Advert Closing Date : 20 / 02 / 2022 Number of Hours : Full-time Salary : 25,887 Per annum Contract Type : Permanent Location : Selby, YO8 9RU Working Environment We require a Catering Manager to run the catering department within an independent living scheme catering for 40 residents on a lunch time service only

Job Description In line with government legislation it is a requirement of the role for all colleagues aged 18 or over and working in care homes to be vaccinated against COVID-19, unless they have a medical exemption.

You will be asked to provide evidence that you have had a full course of the COVID-19 vaccination, or declare that you have a medical exemption.

Your key responsibilities as the Chef Manager will consist of :

  • Lead Heads of Departments to ensure proactive management of teams on site
  • Accountable for recruiting, inducting, training and supporting staff to deliver an efficient, high-quality service to Elior UK, our customers and clients
  • Motivating and managing a team
  • Controlling and managing a budget
  • Accountable for ensuring ongoing team communications, including building internal and external relationships, management reporting and client liaison to enable operational excellence
  • Accountable for maintaining, ordering and controlling food stocks within budget
  • Engage with clients, customers and residents
  • Accountable for COSHH, Food Safety, H&S, legal regulations, environmental policies and duty of care to customers and colleagues

Working Pattern : 5 over 7

Skills and Experience The experience and knowledge we are looking for from the future Chef Manager include :

  • Proven experience of successfully managing a team
  • Genuine interest in customer service excellence
  • A strong team player
  • Highly confident and positive
  • Self-motivated and able to work well unsupervised
  • Proactive with a can do' attitude
  • Contract Catering experience desirable

This role also comes with a workplace pension and 28 days holiday pro-rata (including Bank Holidays). You can also purchase up to 5 additional days annual leave.
