ElderCircle is Hiring a Volunteer Services Director Near Grand Rapids, MN

Job Overview:

ElderCircle is seeking a self-motivated, reliable, and highly-organized program director for the Volunteer Services (Retired & Senior Volunteer Program RSVP) program. Under the direction of the Executive Director of ElderCircle and AmeriCorps Seniors program policy guidelines, the Volunteer Services (RSVP) Director has fulltime responsibility for the development and operation of the AmeriCorps Seniors Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) in Itasca and Koochiching Counties. This position is responsible for the administrative oversight of the Volunteer Services (RSVP) project by ensuring compliance with terms and conditions of all grants and applicable regulations. The ideal candidate is capable of managing their own workload, prioritizing tasks, and thinking ahead to meet the needs of a growing organization.

Duties:

Provide administrative oversight and compliance of all grants:

  • Provide administrative oversight of the RSVP project by ensuring compliance with terms and conditions of all grants and applicable regulations
  • Apply for federal, state and local grant funds to support the RSVP project
  • Research, track and compile statistical and pertinent data for RSVP’s state/federal performance measurements, maintain data logs/conduct surveys and/or other measurement tools, and prepare/submit grant reports
  • Prepare annual RSVP budget, review monthly financial statements, prepare and code RSVP bills and timesheets for payment
  • Hire, train and supervise program support staff, monitor staff performance, and maintain work schedules
  • Represent ElderCircle internally and externally in a professional, courteous, and helpful manner
  • Develop and implement RSVP services according to program guidelines, and monitor and measure program impact in assigned service areas and outcome-based work plans
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of operational procedures and program activities with assistance of the Executive Director, ElderCircle Board and/or RSVP Advisory Group
  • Enhance professional knowledge and skills by attending relevant workshops, trainings, and conferences, reviewing professional materials and publications, and participating in professional organizations
  • Perform other project-related duties as assigned and as allowable within Federal regulations, AmeriCorps Seniors program regulations, and other applicable policies
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in supervising and managing employees
  • Experience in developing community resources to meet financial needs of the program
  • Experience in volunteer management and/or working with older adults
  • Experience providing great customer service on the phone and in-person Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including strong editing skills
  • Ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relations with volunteers, clients, customers, co-workers, and supervisory staff
  • Serve as an advocate on behalf of older adults; educate the community on the positive aspects of aging, and how senior volunteers are a valuable community resource
  • Serve as a strong advocate of the RSVP project and relate how it helps to meet community needs
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of the ElderCircle agency and RSVP program information and issues
