ElderCircle is Hiring an In Home Client Care Assistant Near Itasca, MN

Job Title: ElderCircle In Home Client Care Assistant

Compensation: Hourly

FTE: Regular Part-Time Hours

Reports To: In Home Care Coordinator

Rate: $14-17.00

Job Summary

The In home care services are designed specifically to provide an individualized care plan to help older adults remain in their homes longer. Client Care Assistants will help with home maintenance such as cleaning, laundry, and meal prep, home management assistance such as phone calls, reading mail, sorting, socializing, and personal cares. This a non-medical home program.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living according to their care plan
  • Comply with all licensing procedures and program requirements & policies
  • Respect confidentiality of clients and agency
  • Report suspected abuse and or maltreatment of vulnerable adult
  • Maintain positive working relationships with clients/client families, community providers and referral sources
  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times
  • Keep open communication with Program Coordinator
  • Must maintain and complete ongoing paid training as required

Skills and Qualifications

  • Understand and respect people from all backgrounds
  • Ability to read and understand a care plan with or without accommodation
  • Able to successfully pass background check & physical permitted by law
  • Dependable, people-orientated, flexible, calm, empathetic to others, accountable
  • Desire to work with older adults and /or people with disabilities
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries

Personal Care Job Duties

  • Assist with toileting needs
  • Transfers and ambulation
  • Bathing, grooming, and hair washing necessary for personal hygiene
  • Assistance with eating
  • Accompany to medical appointments

Homemaking/ Home Management Duties

  • Daily Cleaning which includes: Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, laundry, dishes
  • Make beds and change linens
  • Meal prep, cook, serve
  • Organize
  • Grocery shop
  • Make phone calls
  • Assist with making appointments
  • Incidental household services that are an integral part of a personal care plan in the above items

Physical and Environmental Demands

  • The physical demands described here are representative of these that must be met by employees to successfully perform the essential job functions of this position. In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, reasonable accommodations will be considered.
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds occasionally, 0 – 49 pounds regularly.
  • Movements such as stooping, crouching, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching are occasionally required.
  • This position requires spending a majority of the workday standing and walking, with occasional sitting.
  • Noise and/or level of distractions in the work environment are possible.
  • Ability to operate a motorized vehicle and have reliable transportation and current automobile insurance.
