Position Information

The Delivery Driver’s primary role will be to transport orders safely and efficiently from Elder’s Ace Hardware stores to customers or other stores. The delivery driver will fulfill orders from Acehardware.com and in-store orders. Deliveries will be scheduled by 6pm for Next-Day Delivery or by 12 noon for Same-Day Delivery.

Responsibilities

• Develop a daily delivery schedule and route based on customer orders and store-scheduled merchandise transfers that complies with Elder’s expectations for next-day or same-day deliveries. Communicate regularly with store leadership on delivery schedule and any delays.
• Review orders to ensure accuracy before leaving the store. Assist with preparing orders as needed.
• Deliver orders professionally and courteously following Elder’s delivery procedures adhering to uniform and grooming standards.
• Assist your base store on the sales floor or with assembly or store projects, when called upon or as time is available.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid TN, GA, or AL Driver’s license, good driving record and adequate insurance and successfully pass any criminal background/motor vehicle record investigation, and drug test screening.
• 1 year experience operating larger trucks or vans up to 26ft with or without trailers is a big plus.
• Commitment to delivering first-class customer service, treating customers and their premises with great care.
• Computer proficiency – comfortable using various software and mobile applications.
• Available to work daytime hours on Saturdays and some holidays. Sundays if needed.
• Physical demands. Lift and carry up to 100lbs. Pull/push, bending/stooping, reaching overhead, standing and walking, sometimes for extended periods of time.
