Educational Service District 112 is Hiring a Speech Language Pathologist - Birth to Three (2024-25 Anticipated Openings) Near Vancouver, WA

Reporting directly to the Director of Early Intervention, the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) provides speech and language services in the areas of assessment, direct therapy, training and consultation to staff and families of children age birth to three in natural environments as a primary service provider. The SLP serves as a liaison with medical and community service providers on behalf of children with disabilities and their families.
Salary:
The full salary range for this position is $53,581.00 - $89,562.00. Salary placement is based on education and certificated experience.
Assignment/Location:
This position is full time, 185 day contract and will serve our Early Intervention program.
We are building an applicant pool for 2024-2025 anticipated openings. Your application will be considered as positions become available. Estimated start date will be August 2024.
Essential Functions:
  1. Inform teachers and other school personnel of speech, language and/or hearing services.
  2. Provide formal and informal evaluations assessing functional capabilities of infants and toddlers on assigned caseload.
  3. Develop and implement specific goals with measurable outcomes in the Individual Family Service Plan in conjunction with the IFSP team.
  4. Maintain all Early Intervention documentation including EI state forms and written documentation of all evaluations, goals, speech/language treatment plans, progress notes, and communication with doctors and families, in accordance with agency formats in a professional manner and in compliance with established time frame.
  5. Participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  6. Ensure the goals of the infant, toddler, and family are met as stated in the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP).
  7. Provide consultation and home programs for the families/caregivers to facilitate goals as identified in the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP).
Other Functions:
  1. Other duties as assigned.
  2. Availability to consult for other disciplines on an as-needed basis.
  3. Attend required scheduled meetings.
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Hold or eligible to hold a Washington ESA speech language pathologist certificate.
  2. Completed all requirements for a master's degree with a major in speech pathology (except special project or thesis).
  3. Experience working with children with articulation and language disabilities.
  4. Experience in the identification, assessment, programming and evaluation of children with language disabilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Master's degree in speech or speech pathology.
  2. Experience in early intervention or early learning education.
  3. Experience working with Washington state and federal laws relating to children with disabilities.
  4. Experience working with children who are deaf and hard of hearing. 

Working Conditions:

  1. Travel within ESD 112 Special Education ESA service region.
  2. May be assigned to more than one school building/district.
  3. Physically able to perform duties of position in addition to the ability to get to a child's level, ability to bend and/or stoop.
Employment Requirements:
  1. Successful completion of a criminal history fingerprint check through Washington State Patrol and FBI.
  2. Driver's license and an acceptable driving abstract.
