Title: Senior Instructional Designer

Classification: Non-Exempt

Scope of Position

• To plan and manage curriculum development projects including the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of high-quality training experiences

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Perform all functions and responsibilities of Instructional Designer proficiently
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to analyze training needs and determine project vision and scope
• Collaborate with partners to identify desired training outcomes and appropriate design focus
• Design and organize project plans including task development, timelines, team assignments and budget, including accurate estimates of curriculum development hours
• Manage curriculum development projects by conducting project meetings, supervising progress, and communicating with internal leadership and external customers ensuring deliverables are produced on time
• Design and develop specific in-person, blended and virtual curriculum to optimize training effectiveness
• Create training evaluation plan to determine the level of learner knowledge or skill retention and application
• Analyze evaluation data for continuous improvement
• Collaborate with team members to review training materials for adherence to quality standards and incorporation of adult learning principles
• Work with minimal supervision to plan, design, develop and execute curriculum and training projects
• Coordinate and facilitate check-in meetings with external and internal customers
• Provide direct support to instructional designers and other EDSI team members in the training design and development process.
• Establish priorities, manage project timelines, and work independently in a high-paced, dynamic environment
• Coordinate printing and supply orders as needed
• Monitor training expenses and prepare budget reports to justify expenditures
• Assist in the development of grants, proposals, and company procedures
• Continue to pursue educational opportunities to build expertise in specific areas of interest or specialty
• Meet and maintain a productive working relationship with prospective clients and market EDSI’s services
• Participate in the decision making and procurement of new and innovative learning technologies

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements

• Minimum of three years of experience in instructional design
• Project planning and project management experience preferred
• High level of comfort and proficiency using Learning Management Software (LMS)
• Bachelor’s degree in education, training, human services, or related area is required
• Knowledge of multi-modality, strength-based educational approaches, group and individual instructional strategies, and training design
• Experience designing training in a wide variety of industries
• Must have experience using e-learning authoring tools
