Communications Consultant III - Marketing Coordinator


SALARY:

DESCRIPTION:

The marketing and communications coordinator coordinates marketing project timelines, details, and deliverables for the Marketing and Public Information team. This position supports the college’s mission of COMMUNITY by communicating the various events, programs, and happenings on campus. It also supports the mission of TEACHING and LEARNING by promoting classes and programs.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain a project management system in Smartsheet.
  • Train team members to use the Smartsheet system and incorporate their feedback.
  • Implement changes to improve efficiency.
  • Develop project plans.
  • Communicate with requesters and team members about project progress.
  • Place ads on Meta, TikTok, Spotify, Nextdoor and other platforms as needed.
  • Evaluate post performance and make recommendations for future strategies.
  • Write text for social media posts and coordinate graphics, photos, and videos for posts.
  • Ensure all college accounts are connected to Archive Social, a public records tool.
  • Coordinate deletion and consolidation of inactive profiles.
  • Monitor social media performance of other community colleges and seek out new strategies to model.
  • Advise employees in other departments on how to improve their social media strategies.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of ads and make recommendations for future strategies.
  • Write ads and lead development of ad creative, such as graphics and videos.
  • Create and maintain templates for the team to create ads.
  • Place ads through Google Ads.
  • Continuous training on the ad platforms.
  • Write/edit copy for website.
  • Write/edit copy for print materials, such as flyers, postcards, brochures, signs, and viewbooks.
  • Edit press releases.
  • Gather swag orders for departments.
  • Attend campus events as needed.
  • Answer phones when needed.
  • Support Executive Director as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

This is a classified position reporting to the Executive Director of Marketing and Public Information Officer.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-5 years of experience in marketing or similar roles.
  • Well versed in Smartsheet.
  • Proficiency in social media marketing platforms (e.g., Sprout, Meta, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Good understanding of marketing principles and strategies.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of Google Ads and Google Analytics.
  • Experience with content creation tools. (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • A creative and results-oriented mindset.


PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is typically performed in an office setting, and onsite/in-person. The ability to sit at a desk/computer station, bend, stoop, walk and generally move around the office to consult with others, work within a busy environment and remain focused on tasks. Inventory management requires some lifting and moving of objects up to 30lbs. Excellent communication skills are essential. This includes the ability to speak clearly and fully comprehend written and spoken English and will include communication with people for whom English is not their first language. This also includes the ability to produce clearly written documents. Those who are multilingual are strongly encouraged to apply.


WORK SCHEDULE:

40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.


COMPENSATION:

Salary range 51. Beginning salary is $52,620 - $59,616 annually, with progressive increases to $70,800, plus a full state benefits package, which includes tuition waivers for college classes, medical, dental, retirement options and more. Vacation and leave package includes 12 sick days per year, 11 scheduled holidays, 1 personal holiday, 2 personal leave days, and 14 vacation days per year (incremental increases to 24 vacation days per year).

  • You must document your citizenship or employment authorization within three days of hire.
  • Criminal background check. Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal history will be conducted. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant’s suitability and competence to perform in the position.
  • All new positions are contingent upon funding.
