The Impact you will make: 

The Category Manager plays a key role on the Innovation Team. You are responsible for actively leading the baked goods category to achieve the Edible Arrangements vision of exceptional people delivering exceptional value and experience. You will will report to, and work closely with the Director of Category Management to manage product mix, placement, pricing, and inventory as well as the ongoing development of profitable and innovative product lines.

You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to create smart, fun, sales-driving baked goods programs and provide our customers with an experience that meets and exceeds the Edible Arrangements criteria. 

What that looks like day to day: 

  • Develop multi-year strategies and business plans utilizing performance data and industry trends. This should be supported by executable initiatives that deliver results in line with short- and long-term goals.
  • Identify new baked goods, services, and other forms of innovation to be included in our gift offerings that drive customer frequency.
  • Identify and maintain preferred and secondary suppliers while leveraging those relationships to optimize assortment for business growth.
  • Collaborate with supply chain on forecasting while ensuring all aspects of the supplier agreement are being adhered to and regularly evaluate supplier performance.
  • Assist training and development with baked goods standard operating procedures.
  • Drive brand/sku rationalization to streamline and simplify execution for our Franchisees while continuing to grow sales and meet the needs of the customer.
  • Work closely with marketing & e-comm teams on strategy and visual representation of the product lines in all marketing materials
  • Recommends product pricing guidelines consistent with overall pricing strategy. Ensures accurate and competitive pricing across the category through partnership with Finance team and competitive research.
  • Responsible for overall product line strategy & performance, including financial targets; must secure support from leadership and field teams.

LocationThis position will work onsite out of our home office in Sandy Springs, GA, with work from home flexibility on Fridays. 

Requirements: 

  • 2 years as a Category Manager within a perishables / food category required - baked goods a plus. 
  • Proven track record of success in purchasing, pricing, distribution, and merchandising.
  • Basic retail merchandising proficiency, preferably in an e-commerce environment.
  • Ability to understand and manipulate sales and inventory data to drive business decisions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) & ability to quickly learn web-based software.
  • Food Service and/or culinary background is a plus.

  • Self-motivated, innovative thinker with a positive attitude and the desire to create/expand new categories.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present ideas, conclusions, and recommendations with clarity.
  • Strong attention to detail as well as organization and time management skills.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and ability to overcome obstacles.
