Position Summary: Position Summary:As the Chef De Cuisine in Edgewood Restaurant at Edgewood Tahoe, you are a working Chef responsible for Edgewood Tahoe’s high end a la carte restaurant operation. You have the creative flexibility to design and implement menus to maintain Edgewood’s competitive position with the finest restaurants in the market. The Restaurant at Edgewood is currently recognized as providing an excellent experience with top quality food and culinary staff. This position is responsible for all aspects of back-of-house operations, including; food production, equipment and property to facilitate the fulfilment of the Edgewood service experience, financial goals and company initiatives. The Chef De Cuisine motivates, coaches, instils accountability and achieves results to drive success at Edgewood Tahoe. Reimagine luxury hospitality with us. Essential Functions:
Lead daily culinary production, to include; preparation and production of meals, food quality and presentation, compliance with all safety and sanitation standards, team member productivity and performance, cost controls and overall profitability.
Create and implement new menus and individual food items.
Perform Chef duties, including working the line, systems management, ordering, budgeting and forecasting, report generation and department management.
Visually inspect, select and use locally sourced quality food and beverage products, including fruits, vegetables, meats, fish and spices.
Ensure safe facility environment including standards for maintenance and upkeep of equipment, food handling, cooking, housekeeping, sanitation, dress codes, cash control, and employee hygiene. Notify proper Edgewood departments of all unusual events, circumstances, or other safety or quality control issues.
Act as Company's point of contact with guests. Always represent the company in a professional and positive manner. Maintain and enhance the company's image when interacting with clients, guests, employees, and vendors.
Recruit, interview, train, monitor and develop team member performance, including providing supervision and professional development, conducting evaluations, coaching and counselling, scheduling and delivering recognition and reward.

Qualifications / Special Skills:
The ideal candidate is a seasoned and highly effective culinary professional with outstanding management skills and extensive hands-on experience and proven successful track record.
Minimum of 5 years with proven leadership experience in a restaurant/culinary setting is required.
Exceptional communications skills and commitment to providing excellent service to guests.
A university degree in culinary or restaurant management or a related field with experience in opening is preferred.
Excellent computer skills including working knowledge MS Office, POS, Purchasing system, etc.
This position may require extended periods of standing including the entire course of a shift since hands on approach is necessary to effectively manage the quality of guest engagement.
Available to work varied shifts when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
Expert in cutting edge techniques, and modern plate presentations.
Expert in meat, fish and poultry fabrication.
Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently and effectively.
Capable of delegating multiple tasks.
Keep up with cooking trends and best practices.
