BUS MECHANIC

QUALIFICATIONS
1. High School diploma or equivalent
2. Valid driver's license
3. At least eighteen (18) years old
4. Sufficiently skilled, experienced, and/or trained in automotive mechanics to understand the
vehicle, be equipped to follow a definite plan that is thorough, systematic, and adequate
5. Ability to determine that equipment is maintained safely and satisfactorily at all times
6. Ability to maintain an inventory of supplies and materials
7. Ability to supervise recordkeeping for all buses
8. Ability to assist in completing and compiling motor vehicle maintenance records
9. Good health, high moral character, good attendance record, and pleasant disposition
10. Professional tact, diplomacy, and presentation with administrators, staff, teachers, students,
parents and the community
11. Knowledge of school bus safety, and routing
12. A satisfactory background report from Criminal Records check every five years
