SUMMARY

This position is a second shift custodial position that works at Rebecca Stallman Southgate School. Responsible for the general cleanliness and maintenance of the Agency's buildings and office areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General Duties

Maintains general cleanliness of buildings and office areas including but not limited to:

• Windows and window sills;
• Walls and ceilings;
• Floor surfaces in rooms and hallways;
• Sidewalks and wheelchair ramps (including snow removal & salting);
• Maintains general lawn appearance;
• Responds to emergency cleanup;
• Maintains and requests supply inventory for custodial supply area through Maintenance Clerk;
• Ensures building security upon entering and exiting, per procedure and schedule;
• Replenishes supplies as needed (i.e.: toilet paper, hand towels, soap, etc.).

Floor Care Responsibilities:

• Performs vacuuming, sweeping and wet mopping;
• Strips, waxes and buffs hard floors as scheduled;
• Operation of carpet extraction equipment as needed.

Daily Cleaning and Sanitization:

Custodian is responsible to clean and sanitize all restrooms, lunchroom counters and tables, water fountains, clinics, and performs trash removal daily.

OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

QUALIFICATIONS

Valid Ohio Driver's License, acceptable Annual BMV Check.

Must exhibit the ability to operate cleaning equipment and perform duties in order to keep facilities and grounds clean, healthy and safe.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or equivalent, and a minimum three (3) years of paid experience in all areas of building custodial services.
