ABOUT US: Originally built for the 1962 World's Fair, The Edgewater Hotel has marked its place in history as the host to many famous names in the music scene from The Beatles to Blondie. Embraced by Elliott Bay, The Edgewater stands watch over the Olympic Mountains and Seattle skyline. Practically floating on water, the hotel boasts an authentic Pacific Northwest experience including aluminum exteriors, natural wood interiors and river-rock fireplaces. This classic landmark is defined through its culture and distinctive atmosphere.

The Edgewater Hotel is looking for an energetic, friendly, service-oriented Assistant Director of Finance! You will work closely with the Director of Finance in ensuring accurate and compliant accounting of the hotel's budgets and finances. 

The ideal candidate possesses: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or related field preferred: or a combination of education and work experience
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience as a hotel controller, hotel assistant controller or hotel accounting manager.
  • Experience with full cycle accounting processes and payroll
  • A proficiency in income audit, accounts payable, accounts receivable, GL accounting, sales tax filings, collections, and financial reporting
  • Experience in the managing month-end cycle through balance sheet and bank reconciliations, along with financial statement preparation and analysis
  • Budgeting and forecasting skills
  • Excellent administrative, interpersonal , written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Detail oriented and operate with a high degree of accuracy, initiative and integrity.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as cohesively with a team

  • Proactively supporting the hotel departments to achieve their goals and objectives

You have strong business skills: 

  • Tech savvy, utilizing technology for efficiencies and accuracy
  • Deliver great customer service to internal clients
  • Strong budgetary, projections, and cost control skills 
  • Take responsibility/accountability
  • Creative problem solving skill, you can think creatively 
  • Forecasting skills 
  • Juggle and balance the needs of company and owner

Salary Range: $90,000 to $105,000, plus 10% bonus potential
