Job Summary:

The Project Controls Lead (PCL) is responsible for integrating the people, processes and tools needed to perform the various project controls roles within a project including estimating, scheduling, cost, change management and continuous improvement. The PCL is responsible to provide the PSM with the information needed to establish baselines, identify variances and take corrective actions to deliver the project against performance targets.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Implement common estimating, cost and planning processes, procedure and standards for projects. Provide cost controls support ensure the delivery of the program suite. Ensure project controls is integrated across all projects and programs. Ensure compliance with the Project Controls Process.

• Ensure Project Controls personnel within the program teams are utilizing proper tools and processes for delivering Project Service requirements.

• Accountable for providing PSM with relevant project management information to support the Leadership Team.

• Accountable for timely delivery of monthly reports, Forecasts, VOWD, Stage Gate Reviews and ad hoc reporting for assigned projects. Accountable for informing Project Controls personnel of requirements and ensuring proper training is made available to ensure compliance.

• Responsible for understanding Supply Chain strategic sourcing strategy.

• Accountable for communicating accurate project information as the representative for the overall program.

• Expected to attend and contribute to Stage Gate Reviews

• Accountable for integrated milestone based Level 1 Schedule

• Accountable for assigning projects to Cost Engineers and Schedulers within assigned program

• Accountable for reviewing all WBS proposals and ensuring proper compliance.

• Expected to seek out and participate in formal training and to ensure assigned team is also participating.

• Accountable for communicating and ensuring accuracy of Resource Requirements.

• Accountable for reviewing and approving variance analysis, recovery plans, change order basis, MoCs, Stage Gate Review deliverables and basis documents (cost, schedule and estimates)

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

• Four year college degree preferred or proven experience equivalent

• 10 years of Project Controls experience

• Cost Controls support

• Strong computer skills with ability to navigate & learn various software databases.

• The ability to learn and utilize new skills

• Strong communication skills with peers and the ability to communicate constructively in group settings, taking the lead when required

• Ability to read and comprehend job descriptions, safety policies and procedures

• Ability to recognize and solve problems

• Analytical ability

• Willingness and ability to organize a varied workload with minimal oversight

• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks

• Willing to travel to jobsite as required

• Seven (7) years of the most recent employment history must be in the United States or be verifiable by a U.S. based employer;

• All degrees or certifications must be verifiable (domestic or international).

Preferred Experience

• Knowledge of Oil and Gas EHS standard policies and procedures;

• Bakken Experience

• Ability to read and comprehend schematics, drawings and manuals

• Experience in training and leading others

• Ability to navigate, analyze, and report on SAP financials

• Estimating experience

• Primavera scheduling

Working Conditions:

• Work environment is in client office with remote work subject to client approval.

• Daily interaction is likely with other client team members domestically and internationally.
