We are currently looking for Bussers to work 2-4 shifts per week, hours vary depending on parties and business need, weekday hours are Monday - Thursday (Lunch) 11am to 4pm, (Dinner) 4/4:30pm to Close, weekend hours are Friday - Sunday (Lunch) 12pm to 4:30pm/5pm, Mid 12pm-8pm, or (Dinner) 4/4:30pm to Close shifts (9:30/10:30pm). Must be 16 years old or over. Working Holidays are a must (we are closed Christmas Day). Hours are able to increase, if desired, as we head into the late Spring and Summer seasons.

Job purpose

To clear and set up tables while assisting the front of the house team with keeping stations stocked and clean.

Duties and responsibilities

The Bussers duties are as follows

• Learn the different areas of the restaurant including the table numbers and typical setup of the restaurant and tables.
• Check busser/server stations and make sure they are stocked before each shift.
• Bread/Butter
• Rollups/Napkins
• Silverware/Plates/Napkins stocked in stations
• Check setups for the evening to make sure tables are set up correctly.
• Go over nightly setups
• Check stations and tables look for problems
• See what tables may need to be set up for later in the evening.
• Put out bread and butter on tables, light candles, check and recharge batteries for candles.
• Never walk empty, combine your steps to be efficient.
• Bus tables correctly
• Bus table, leave napkin if it still needs to be wiped
• Wipe table, chairs, sweep floor, push in chairs
• Set up table as trained, setups should be neat and orderly.
• Put things away where they belong
• Tickets should be stabbed
• Menus to front
• Bread/butter put back, napkins in bin
• Plates scraped/ Silverware in tub/ Glasses in rack
• Books with cash give to server
• Stay busy, there is always something to do.
• Wipe Highchairs
• Wipe menus – Lunch/Dinner/Dessert/Wine/Weekend Brunch
• Be reliable, show up on time, give notice and/or try and find replacement when you are sick or cannot come to work.
• Come to work clean and professional. Clothes must be clean and free from holes or tears. Employee must be showered and well groomed, hair put up, beard trimmed... Shoes must be non-slip and closed toe, and in good shape.
• Must be flexible with schedule and available to work weekends, holidays, and lunches depending on what the customers and business needs.
• Limit cell phone use to breaks or emergencies. Cell phones are a distraction and are not to be used while on your shift.

Working conditions

Normal busser shifts range from 4 to 6 hours. The work is fast paced and physically demanding. You will be expected to work weekends and Holidays, as well as be flexible with your schedule to accommodate the needs of the customers and business. Some of the work will be outside on our patio which can be affected by weather. Bussers may get wet, or have to work outside on some hot days. Bussers also may have to be in the kitchen and can encounter hot pans, slippery floors, and sharp knives.

Physical requirements

This is a physically demanding job. Bussers must be able to spend 4-6 hours on their feet per day. Breaks will be given according to local laws, but may be taken early in the shift so the employee can work through the rush. Employees must be able to lift 50 lbs from the ground regularly. Some work may require pushing 100lbs or more. Our restaurant also has a basement, and stairs leading down into the patio; so the ability to descend and ascend stairs is required.
