Summary of Major Functions:

Provide all collection and accounts receivable services for the clinical programs at EDCare. Collaborates with Business Office Supervisor in setting up policies and procedures to ensure accurate patient statements and HIPAA compliance.

Job Type: Full-Time (Hourly)

Schedule: Monday-Friday (8am-5pm)

This role is on-site in Denver, CO.

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide insurance follow-up, collections and re-submissions.
• Inform patients of insurance issues and coordinate patient payment plans.
• Inform patients of outstanding balances through clean statements, letter series and direct phone contact.
• Respond within 24 hours to inquires (received via phone, written, and in person) regarding all outpatient accounts at EDCare.
• Coordinate with inpatient (PHP and IOP) billing system for credit balance transfers and collection issues.
• Assist Business Office Manager and CFO with projects related to billing/collection, process update, and patient information flow within EDCare.
• Cross train with Front Desk Administrative Assistant to coordinate coverage for and act as primary back-up.
• Maintain patient files, maintaining HIPAA compliance.
• Performs end of month reporting functions and checks for accuracy.
• Enters charges and payments and checks for accuracy prior to closing all posting.
• Has appropriate attention to detail necessary for closing out at end of day and posting.
• Maintain schedule that provides appropriate staffing coverage.
• Demonstrate effective communication by checking and responding to email and calls within a timely manner.
• Comply with all regulatory and accreditation requirements. This includes but is not limited to HIPAA, The Joint Commission and federal, state and/or local jurisdictions.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years in outpatient billing/collection, accounts receivable, and/or other applicable experience required.
• Above average analytical and problem-solving skills required.
• Behavioral Health experience preferred.
• Detail-oriented required.
• Good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills preferred

Computer Skills:

• Must be able to master an office scheduling system and medical billing system; prefer experience with OfficeHours and Medisoft.
• Minimum of intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite. High level of proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets and data entry.
• Must be able to efficiently learn and effectively work within an electronic medical records system.
