The generalresponsibilities for the Reliability Engineer,are to manage and coordinate thePDM/MIT program. Coordinate maintenance activities and recommends repairmethods for regular maintenance activities and breakdowns. Identifies and actsupon maintenance and reliability improvements.

 AdditionalResponsibilities for the Reliability Engineerwill include:

·Analyzes preliminary engineering-design concepts of equipment torecommend design or test methods for attaining operational reliability.

·Utilizes knowledge of product technology, and knowledge ofequipment and machine capabilities to advise production engineers during designreview meeting by providing information such as reliability findings andrecommendations to increase the reliability of the system.

·Actively involved in research of new stationary and rotaryequipment to increase production efficiency and maintenance of equipment toreduce operational costs.

·Develops, initiates, and/or monitors Capital projects of theMaintenance Department.

·Confers with production personnel regarding system reliability, andequipment requiring repair or replacement to achieve unit integrity. 

·Develops and trains or directs the training of employees onprocedure changes, usage of new equipment, and maintainingcredentials/certifications to effectively achieve departmental goals andobjectives.

·Supervises the employee activities in ensure efficient schedulingand completion of assignments to maintain mechanical integrity of theplant. Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solvingwork problems.

·Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipmentperformance, and quality of product. 

·Reviews Incident database and reports to determine cause ofincident. Documents initial incident and tracks implementation of resolution(s) to insure closure and abatement of cause.

·Completes MOC’s for new or modified equipment or procedures asneeded.

·Communicates with contractors/ vendors regarding specifications anddrawings, proposals of design modifications to improve reliability within costand other performance requirements. 

·Manages and implements site Mechanical Integrity Program. Modifies, adds or deletes activities and /or procedures as needed to accomplishthis.

·Acts as a resource to ensure that piping is fabricated inaccordance with local and company specifications as well as applicablestandards.

·Facilitate Root Cause Analysis/Focused Equipment Improvement Teamsas needed.

·Performs detailed operational analysis of equipment as needed todetermine fitness for service or need for maintenance.

Minimum Qualifications:

·2 years of experience as a Maintenance, Fixed Equipment orReliability Engineer in an industrial setting – chemical, petrochemical, orrefining industry is desired.

·Transportation Worker’s Identification Credentials is a conditionof employment

·Knowledge of reliability centered maintenance (RCM), predictivemaintenance techniques, Root Cause Failure Analysis, rotating equipment, andmaintenance management systems in a manufacturing environment

·BS in Engineering from an accredited domestic 4-year college oruniversity - Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
