The generalresponsibilities for an Instrumentationand Electrical Technician include troubleshooting and repairingInstrument/Electrical Equipment.Performinstallation of instrument and electrical equipment.

Additionalresponsibilities for the Instrumentationand Electrical Technician include, but aren’t limited to:

• Temperature measurement (thermocouple,R.T.D., filled systems and converters), Pressure measurement (all types). Flowmeasurement (Magnetic flow, orifice plate, vortex, coriolis effect and positivedisplacement). Level measurement (bubbler, diaphragm, capacitance, buoyancy andultrasonic). Conductivity measurement (L and N electrode, Foxboroelectrode-less and Uniloc Toroidal).
• PH measurement, control and theory.Automatic control valves – rebuilding of valves & top works. Valvespositioners – electronic & pneumatic.
• Analyzers (O2, SO2, TOC, CO, pH),Temperature and pressure switches, Voltage and Current relays, PneumaticControllers. I/P and P/I Transducers, Programmable controllers.
• Ohm’s Law, Electronic circuitry &components – 480V and greater MCCs and switchger

• Proportional band (gain), integral (reset)& derivative (preact)
• Run conduit and pull wireassociated with maintenance work.
• Operate machinery necessary to complete these tasks such asforklifts, manlift, drill presses, conduit threader, and saws & assortedhand tools.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance inspections on plantequipment.
• Review yearly & when necessary, assist in writing job procedures.
• Responsible for following all Safety policies that have beenestablished at the Houston plant e.g., Stop Work Policy, ZeroTolerance Policy, etc.
• Help in preparing the applicable work permits.
• Participation in risk assessment audits (PHA, CTA, JSA, etc) asapplicable.
• Immediately report any unsafe conditions or behavior to yoursupervisor & write safe work orders or Near Miss reports to document theunsafe conditions or actions.
• Ensure all applicable permits have been issued, equipment isproperly locked out & tagged out & use the proper PPE &tools required for the specific job.

Minimum Requirements:

• 3years in instrumentation and/or electrical maintenance in an industrial plantsetting

• Perform basic math.Ableto read blueprints.Perform instrumentcalibrations. Perform electrical installations.Basic knowledge of PLC.
• Must possess knowledge of how to operate a computer. Must bewilling to drive a forklift and manlift.
• Two-year certificate in Instrument orElectrical from college or technical school or equivalent combination ofeducation and experience and high school diploma or GED.

• Must be willing to be Hazwoper trained.
• If an applicant does not have certification in both Instrumentand Electrical, the applicant will be required to complete a training course inthe non-certified skill.
