Job Summary:

The Project Manager has ultimate Client responsibility and total Financial accountability for their assigned projects. This position plays a central role in the overall operations of Easton Companies, requiring constant communication, coordination and cooperation with the leadership and members of all the companies. The Project Manager needs to be three to six months ahead of their assigned projects and will know all the contract details. All Client issues and communication will come through this position. The PM may not know all the dimensions once the project starts, but they will know all the contract details. The Project Manager oversees all assigned projects for their business unit and is the primary contact for owners, public agencies, architects, consultants, and contractors before and during project implementation. The project manager solves problems as they arise to meet required specifications, proposed budgets, and time estimations.

Position Responsibilities:

  • The Project Manager oversees all assigned projects for Easton Concrete and is the primary contact for owners, public agencies, architects, consultants, and contractors before and during project implementation.
  • Professionalism: Approaches others in a tactful manner; Reacts well under pressure; Treats others with respect and considerations regardless of their position; Accepts responsibility for own actions and actions of his team; Follows through on commitments.
  • Owner/Customer Satisfaction: Providing customer with a quality product per customers desires, specs and local regulations and requirements; both internal and external clients.
  • Communication: Be always available for clarification of job details.
  • Scheduling: Manage the project schedule and adjust accordingly as early as possible. Schedule pre-construction meetings with team and customers. Be flexible and roll with changes as required.
  • Project/Site Review & Preparation: Identify high risk items prior to each project; Shall seek assistance of operations team for strategic owner/subcontractor meetings where a cohesive company presence is required
  • Documentation/Paperwork: Initiate procedures with the project team regarding construction document management.
  • Safety: Adhere to safety hazards and identify safety hazards as they arise.
  • Leadership: Maintain a positive approach and attitude. Create learning opportunities to assist team members in developing skills and/or advancing on their career path.
  • Quality Assurance & Quality Control: Customer satisfaction, and satisfaction for you, comes from quality control. Strive for optimal efficiency and quality by doing things the right way the first time.
  • Problem Solving: Plan to the best of your ability, anticipate potential problems and solve all problems as they arise.
  • Meetings: Attend weekly meetings with Easton Companies operations.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Candidate must be able to collaborate effectively with multiple supervisors and balance and prioritize multiple requests. Candidate must be capable and practiced in handling complex and or multi-faceted tasks. The individual must have effective office time management and organizational skills. Initiative and problem solving will be central to successful organization and dissemination of job and workflow information
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • The Project Manager must have outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, with the ability to relate well to the public, in person and on the telephone.
  • The Project Manager must be pleasant, diplomatic, tactful, discreet, flexible, resourceful, dependable, well-organized, friendly, emotionally mature, and professional.
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Blue Beam, Onscreen Take Off, Procore and familiar with Topcon GPS System. Experience with Revit and/or AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Project Manager must have strong math and analytical skills, be detail driven and have a high emotional need to succeed. The Project Manager must be highly skilled at reading, interpreting, and understanding construction documents, to include blueprints, contracts, and scopes of work. Able to oversee the budgeting and financing of a project and ensure profitability.
  • Attendance/Punctuality: consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; Arrives at meetings and appointments on time
  • Technical - Ability to read construction documents including plans and specifications. Basic computer skill to work with email, web skills for checking weather, reviewing/job documents, and coordinating with other personnel.
  • Customer Service – The necessary people skills and ability to interact with customers and vendors and ability to create long term business relationships.
  • Team Player – Ability to communicate and collaborate cooperatively with co-workers and to take and follow instructions from supervisors. Coordinate, problem solve and motivate crew.
  • Interpersonal Skills - Focuses on solving conflict, not blaming; Maintains confidentiality; Listens to others without interrupting; Keeps emotions under control; Remains open to others' ideas and tries new things.
  • Personal Motivation/Development – Good attitude and concern for working well, employing problem solving skills and commitment to self-improvement.
  • Problem Solving: You will solve problems all day long, technical, crew, logistical, customer and many others. Plan to the best of your ability and anticipate problems before they arise.
  • The Project Manager must be self-motivated, with a desire to advance their knowledge with industry standards, techniques, and products, and be comfortable in a leadership role.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management or Engineering preferred. Equal on-the-job education and experience considered.

Experience:

  • Experience supervising multiple crews on multiple projects as a commercial building superintendent.
  • Is current with building codes, best practices, technological advances, and overall performance.

License: A valid driver license (required)

Working Conditions:

  • When in the Office, a desk and office will be provided along with a break room and bathroom.
  • The dress and presentation should be representative of the position, business casual, jeans acceptable.
  • Easton Companies business hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. As a Manager you need to be on premise ready to work no later than 8:00 AM unless you receive prior Manager Approval. As an operations position there may be some project early starts. It is the Project Manager’s responsibility that jobsites maintain proper supervision, regardless of time.
  • This position at times involves work at construction sites where duties will be performed both indoors and outdoors. Cold and hot conditions will be experienced, including inclement weather.
  • Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
