Job Summary:

As a Concrete Curb Machine Operator, you will be responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of curb machines and associated equipment. Your duties will include diagnosing defects, setting elevation and stringline, and ensuring proper subgrade preparation for grade trimming and slipform operations. Strong problem-solving skills, communication abilities and a focus on safety and efficiency are essential for this role.

Position Responsibilities:

• Analyzes malfunctions and repairs and maintains equipment such as fueling and greasing.
• Operates and inspects curb machines and equipment to diagnose defects.
• Expected to set elevation and stringline, preparing subgrade, set up for grade trimming/slipforms, pre-operation instruction and slipform curb operation.
• Will be required to perform labor duties alongside construction crews finishing concrete.
• Expected to perform job duties safely in the required safety sensitive role and as per company policy

Requirements:

• Valid Driver’s License (required)
• Minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
• 3 years of operating a GOMACO or similar concrete curb finishing machine

Working Conditions:

• This position involves work at construction sites where duties will be performed both indoors and outdoors. Both cold and warm conditions will be experienced, including inclement weather.
• Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
• Hours are often 10 or more hours a day, 50 or more hours a week, as work demands. Work hours can be seasonal.

• Operate with use of GPS system
• Operate and setup manually without use of GPS system
• Ability to read and understand blueprints
• Able to identify, define, and resolve problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions independently.
• Able to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in mathematical, written or oral form.
• Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to equipment operations.
• Ability to read, write and do basic mathematical calculations in order to keep time and material records.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks effectively with a focus on timeliness and responsiveness.
