The Speech Pathologist acts as an active member of the Laryngology and Head and Neck teams. This position works closely with experienced, specialized Otolaryngologists primarily in the outpatient setting, with some inpatient work, exclusively supporting a large academic tertiary referral practice focusing on the evaluation and management of a range of complex voice, airway, and swallowing disorders.
CONFIDENTIAL AND SENSITIVE INFORMATION:
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Virginia State license to practice, and a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP). Completion of a clinical fellowship with an emphasis on voice and dysphagia related disorders. Experience in vocal performance and vocal pedagogy including working with singers is preferred. Experience in the care of individuals following laryngectomy including voice prosthesis management is preferred. Experience using common voice therapy techniques (e.g., Vocal Function Exercises, Resonant Voice Therapy, and Lee Silverman Voice Treatment is preferred.
